Who we are ?

We are Ron and Marjolein, two enthusiastic people from the Netherlands. We love playing volleyball and have a passion for cooking and baking (and eating it together afterwards, of course!). Our two beautiful daughters delayed our adventure to emigrate for a while, but now we are ready to make our dream come true. In the Netherlands, we had a busy social life and work that we enjoyed, but we no longer felt at home in the hectic environment around us.

In April 2018, we decided to follow our hearts and started our adventure to start a guesthouse in Italy and from June 2021 we may receive guests. We feel completely in our power again and radiate this. Le Marche feels like coming home to us! We were looking for a place with both beach and mountains, where we could be active but also relax. We wanted authentic villages where we could experience the real Italy, but still have everything within easy reach. And that is exactly what Le Marche has to offer.

The people here are incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Come and discover our guesthouse Casale di Maro in Le Marche, where everything can be visited within an hour. Whether you come in spring, summer, autumn or winter, each season has its own charm. There are three airports about a 1/1.5 hours away (Ancona, Pescara and Perugia) but flying to Bologna and Rome is also possible.

After some brainstorming, we found a name that fits our guesthouse perfectly. We chose ‘Casale di Maro’, a combination of the word ‘Casale’, which stands for farm or homestead, and ‘di Maro’, an amalgamation of our own names. It is a nod to individuality and being able to be yourself. With us, unforced enjoyment is central. No obligations, but purely doing what you love and what is important to you.

Le Marche is an enchanting region where you can experience the real Italian atmosphere. It offers the perfect combination of beautiful nature, rich culture and, above all, warm hospitality. Here you can enjoy warm encounters, relaxation and a casual atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Soak up the languid rhythm of the day or get out and about. And in the evening, as the sun slowly sets, sip a tasty glass of wine and realise that you are very much enjoying what you have and feel happy.
